At Fanatics Collectibles – IT IS ALL FOR THE COLLECTORS

The Role:
Fanatics’ Legal team is seeking an experienced and talented attorney to join as Sr Corporate Counsel for the Collectibles business. In this role, you will work closely with both domestic and international teams, partnering with senior leadership across the organization. Your primary focus will be on general corporate matters, with particular responsibility for managing our athlete partnership agreements and related processes.
This is a strategic, hands-on position for a results-driven, business-minded attorney. You will serve as a key member of the legal team, helping to lead the legal strategy and execution across the full spectrum of legal matters impacting Fanatics Collectibles.
 

Responsibilities & Duties:
The Sr Corporate Counsel will provide legal counsel across a wide range of matters related to the day-to-day operations of the Fanatics Collectibles business. This includes advising leadership and cross-functional teams on key legal and business issues. Key responsibilities include:

  • Serving as key legal counsel for the overall Collectibles organization, with responsibilities across corporate, commercial, business, and transactional matters.
  • Leading and overseeing the Athlete Partnership legal team, including day-to-day management of athlete and talent agreements, renewals, negotiations, and related workflows.
  • Supporting and advising on all aspects of consumer product licensing, including drafting, negotiating, and managing inbound and outbound licensing agreements.
  • Advising on legal risks and business structuring, as well as drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of contracts and commercial agreements.
  • Managing and driving legal advice and execution for Fanatics Collectibles, ensuring alignment with business priorities and risk tolerance.
  • Developing and implementing business-appropriate policies, programs, and best practices across the legal and compliance functions.
  • Conducting legal training and education sessions related to key areas of responsibility.

 

Educational and Professional Experience/Other Requirements:

  • At least eight plus (8+) years of professional legal work experience at a law firm and in-house directly advising senior leadership clients on complex corporate, commercial, business, and transactional matters.
  • In-house legal experience required.
  • Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school or international equivalent.
  • Member in good standing of at least one US State Bar.
  • In office role.

  • Strong understanding of the Collectibles businesses and overall Fanatics operations.
  • Be a creative thinker who can initiate and develop alternative approaches to complex issues.
  • Have a “how” state of mind, not a yes/no advisor.
  • Professional and have a perfect sense of integrity, reliable and does the right thing.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent legal and business acumen and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to synthesize complex data for a range of audiences. Ability to advise all levels of seniority, summarize bottom line concise advice and in the same time able to expand to full spectrum of details and analysis as appropriate.
  • Able to function in excellence in a high-paced, entrepreneurial and constantly evolving and fast-moving environment.
  • Aim to be best in class – goal oriented and task focused learner who is innovative and influential.

  • Ability to travel frequently on short notice.
