Audit Supervisor
Objective:
To lead audit engagements with accuracy and professionalism while supervising staff and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The Audit Supervisor provides a critical link between staff, clients, and firm leadership, ensuring client satisfaction and the timely delivery of high-quality work.
Description:
The Audit Supervisor plays a key role in managing and executing audits across a range of clients. This role combines technical accounting knowledge with team leadership and client service. The individual will supervise audit staff, coordinate with clients, and oversee the quality and efficiency of engagements.
Essential Functions:
· Lead and manage audit engagements from planning to final report delivery.
· Review workpapers, financial statements, and audit reports for accuracy and compliance with GAAP and firm standards.
· Supervise, train, and mentor audit associates and seniors.
· Communicate directly with clients regarding audit findings, recommendations, and resolution of technical issues.
· Ensure all audits are completed on time and within budget.
· Monitor project status and collaborate with the Audit Manager to adjust timelines or staffing as needed.
· Assist in risk assessments and planning for each audit engagement.
· Provide real-time feedback and formal evaluations to team members.
· Stay current on accounting pronouncements, industry regulations, and auditing standards.
· Identify opportunities for client process improvements and consult on internal controls.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has direct supervisory responsibility and plays a leadership role within audit engagements and provides guidance and mentorship to junior staff. The Audit Supervisor reports to the Audit Manager and/or the Partner group.
Position Expectations & Work Environment
This is a full-time salaried exempt position. While performing the duties of this job, the employee works normal office hours (with guilt-free flexibility). Some weeks over 40 hours will be required.
Location & Travel
Based in Springfield, MO, but also serve employees in all Abacus! physical locations and those working remotely. Position could be located in: Fayetteville, AR.
Required Education & Experience
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
· CPA preferred (or actively pursuing).
· Minimum 4 years of audit experience in public accounting required.
· Previous experience in a lead or supervisory role on engagements is strongly preferred.
