- Proficient in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo) and analysis tools (ANSYS, COMSOL).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical design and development of commercial hardware instruments.
- Design, analyze, and optimize precision mechanical components and assemblies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including optical, software, and systems engineers.
- Develop and implement motion control mechanisms.
- Evaluate and integrate optical sub-systems for alignment and stability.
- Select materials, components, and manufacturing processes to meet specifications.
- Conduct tolerance analysis, FEA, and other simulations to validate designs.
- Oversee prototyping, testing, and iterative refinements of mechanical systems.
- Maintain detailed design documentation including CAD models and engineering drawings.
- Coordinate with manufacturing partners and vendors for prototyping and testing.
- Travel occasionally, including international trips.
Education
- Bachelor's degree with at least 18 years of related experience, or
- Master’s degree with at least 15 years of related experience, or
- PhD with at least 12 years of related experience.
