Job Description
This role supports the legal team on a range of legal issues, projects, and administrative tasks such as:
- Assist Sr. Paralegal in the maintenance of electronic documents and legal files, including, but not limited to, the implementation, organization and management of a documentation management program.
- Obtain and maintain business licenses, fictitious business name certificates, vehicle registrations and renewals, permits and other annual renewals.
- Research federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Assist with insurance program compliance
- Prepare initial drafts of franchise documents, non-disclosures and independent contractor agreements for General Counsel review.
- Support Sr. Paralegal in compliance initiatives
- Format documents, proofread, draft letters and manage communications with outside agencies, company team members and contractors, and franchisees.
- General administrative duties including typing, filing, scheduling meetings.
- Other duties as assigned by the Sr. Paralegal and General Counsel
Pay: $35 per hour and above depending on experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree and/or Paralegal Certification
- 2+ years’ experience working as a paralegal, preferably in a fast-paced environment
- Prior experience in an in-house corporate legal team setting preferred
- High attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 Suite (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint), in addition to Adobe Acrobat
