Accounting Manager

Description

Summary: Oversees the day-to-day operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions. Promotes food safety culture within the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Continually assess AR process in order to improve efficiency, accuracy and timeliness.
• Manage AR's weekly call with Sales and ensure proper follow up.
• Monitor progress of collections and make necessary adjustments to increase progress.
• Manager AR duties in collections, customer relations and payment posting.
• Perform write offs in Quick Books.
• Researches and processes charge backs, returns, and bad checks.
• Assist AR in research in payment discrepancies.
• Have Solid Understanding of Flow of Accounting Entries in QuickBooks
• Report Collection progress to upper Management by utilizing QuickBooks Reports.
• Manage all related personnel issues. Work with HR and Controller as guidance as needed.
• Assists with payroll
• Assists with related special projects, as required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field from four-year college or university; or one to two years related accounting/bookkeeping experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

COMPUTER SKILLS

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Quickbooks Accounting software; ERP Systems Database software; Excel Spreadsheet software and Microsoft Office Word Processing software.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS

Data entry skills necessary with emphasis on accuracy and speed.
