Backend Software Engineer III
Skills
- Proficiency in backend programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++
- Experience building backend systems in production
- Knowledge of distributed systems, RESTful APIs, and service-oriented architectures
- Database experience with SQL and/or NoSQL
- Strong understanding of systems design, data structures, and algorithms
- Familiarity with CI/CD, containerization, and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable backend services, APIs, and microservices
- Write clean, testable, and efficient code across the software stack
- Collaborate with product managers, frontend engineers, DevOps, and data teams to solve complex problems
- Own and evolve key parts of the backend architecture
- Review code, mentor junior engineers, and raise engineering standards
- Improve performance, reliability, and observability of existing systems
- Participate fully in the software development lifecycle
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience
