Boston Engineering seeks an experienced Principal Robotics Software Engineer.

Responsibilities:  

In this role, you will:

• Develop solutions from the specification phase through the final delivery and acceptance testing
• Approach designs from a system perspective 
• Lead the software development of complex robotics systems
• Research and quickly learn new technologies

• Acted as a software systems engineer on complex robotics projects
• Contributions to Open Source software 
• Localization algorithms 
• Behavior Trees 
• Path Planning for mobile robots, arm manipulation
• Simulation environments such as Gazebo 

Reports to: Director, Software Engineering

Location:  Office based role in Waltham, MA four (4) days a week

Do you have these qualifications?

• Eight to twelve plus years of experience 
• Bachelor's or higher degree in computer science
• Expert in Robotics (ROS2) 
• Expert in software systems architecture and design 
• Comfortable acting in a customer-facing role 
• Experience with Linux 
• Fluency in technical oversight, mentoring, and review of project work efforts from junior-level engineering personnel 
• Ability to oversee and conduct project design reviews, identification of project risks, and development of risk mitigation strategies and approaches 
• Expert using Git 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills required   
• No relocation

This role is restricted to US persons (i.e., US citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 USC 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to export-controlled technology. Boston Engineering will require proof of status prior to employment.

Salary Range:  The final salary offer will be based on individual education, skills, and experience.
