Job Description

Global Trading Solutions is looking for an experienced Director – Product manager Technology to lead and support Precious and Base Metal Risk and PnL platforms.  The candidate will closely work with trading, quants, and operation teams to drive strategy and delivery of modernized commodity platform. This role will have direct reports and be responsible for managing a team of product managers, providing leadership, directions and support.

Key Deliverables and Responsibilities:

• Directly work with Front-office Sales, trading and Quants to define and deliver solutions.
• Accountable for developing BRD for Physical Metal, Leasing and Inventory financing risk metrics.
• Works with Technology teams to estimate cost, plan project, and prioritize features.
• Assist in resource allocation, project scheduling and delivery.
• Work with downstream system owners, identify requirements and coordinate onboarding.
• As needed, act as Level 3 business analyst for production support and manage incidents to ensure prompt resolutions of issues.

Leadership Skills and Accountability:

Initiative Delivery, Requirements and Business Testing Management

• Facilitate communication among stakeholders to ensure alignment and project success.
• Support business with defining the business need or problem and identifying potential solutions.
• Coaches and guides members within area of expertise.
• Understand, prioritize, and rank product enhancements and bug-fixes.

Business Product Knowledge:

• Knowledge of commodities business including:
  • Physical Metals business – Leasing and financing
  • Derivatives product knowledge (Fut, Fwd, Avg, Options etc.)
  • Risk reporting and PnL explain.

Technical Skills:

• Deep knowledge of trading and risk management platforms– Setting up Curve, Contract, trade templates, simulations and EOD processes.
• Ability to perform analytical work, explain risk, cashflow and pnl
• Strong Excel skills (formulas, pivots, macros, etc.)

Asset Classes:

• Commodities including Precious Metals, Base Metals, Oil, Gas and Emission

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
