Role Overview
We're looking for a Software Engineer to help build edge computing solutions and aviation route planning software that can reliably perform complex tasks in aviation environments. You will help design, integrate, test, deploy, and maintain new software functionality in aircraft across the globe. You will join a diverse team that is dedicated to making a real-world impact using advanced, creative technologies.
What You'll Do
Edge Computing Solutions: Contribute to edge computing software to enhance real-time data processing and decision-making capabilities on aircraft.
Aviation Route Planning: Support the implementation of sophisticated aviation route planning algorithms to optimize flight paths, enhance safety, and improve operational efficiency.
Testing & Validation: Help test and validate new features to ensure stability and performance in real-world conditions.
Systems Integration: Collaborate on integrating software with aircraft systems, sensors, and backend components.
Clean Code Practices: Write readable, maintainable code with attention to testing and documentation.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with a cross-functional team to plan, build, and iterate on software features.
Learning & Growth: Contribute to code reviews and stay engaged with the team’s evolving engineering practices.
What Will Make You Successful
Edge Computing Expertise: 3+ years of experience developing edge computing solutions, particularly in resource-constrained environments.
Route Planning Proficiency: Background in designing and implementing route planning algorithms for aviation or similar fields.
Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities and experience with debugging and troubleshooting complex systems.
Communication & Collaboration Skills: Collaborative mindset and strong communication skills.
Programming Proficiency: Proficiency in programming languages such as C++, Python, or similar.
Bonus Points
Aviation Experience: Understanding of the specific data needs and challenges in aviation or related fields.
Embedded Systems: Experience working with embedded systems, sensors, and drivers.
GPU/IoT Devices: Experience working with Nvidia GPUs/CUDA or similar.
This is a hybrid role and requires working from our San Carlos, CA office at least three days a week, with the option to work remotely the remaining days.
