Clinical Social Work Program Manager

Acute Crisis Care - Outreach and Short Term Mental Health Services and Case Management

Do you like solving problems and removing barriers for our acute mental health and homeless population? Do you value a position in which you are empowered in an autonomous role to do whatever it takes on any given day?  The Program Manager is responsible for leading a team providing direct service to acute mental health crisis cases in our new Acute Crisis Care and Evaluation for Systemwide Services (ACCESS) Care Coordination Team (ACCT).  This position will manage administrative, fiscal, and quality improvement functions that promote the highest element of service provision. BACS’ staff does whatever it takes to find permanent housing for homeless people or stabilize mental health cases and the work happens both in the office, or out in the community. This role requires someone who values accountability, trust, and innovation. 

ACCT is a community based approach comprised of two teams an Outreach and Engagement and Case Management to provide short-term mental health, core case managemant and co-occurring SUD Services. The program takes a "do whatever it takes," harm reduction philosophy and a "no-fail" approach to outreach, engagement and service delivery where clients are consistently encouraged to engage in treatment and services.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees a community-based program that provides long-term case management to homeless adults, and previously incarcerated (forensic population) .  
  • Meet clients where they are to implement consumer-centered services that are needs-driven, strengths-based, and culturally relevant.
  • Manage the flow of referrals, intakes, and discharges of participants and ensures accessibility and welcoming of all people.
  • Be an available and engaged manager, supervise staff including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Provide individual and group supervision to interns collecting clinical experience and hours.
  • Constantly challenge the status quo and look for opportunities for continuous quality improvement and implement systems for CQI.
  • Assure that services are provided in compliance with all funders, including documentation, grant management, presentations, and reports.
  • Hold responsibility for the revenue and expense of the program. 
  • Communicate effectively and conscientiously utilizing strength-based language and philosophy throughout all aspects of program management and supervision.

Qualifications

  • Program Manager: LCSW/LMFT/PsyD + 2 years post licensure. LPHA preferred.
  • Two years’ experience post-licensure in a behavioral science field.
  • Three years of progressive administrative, direct service, and leadership skills and experience in the social service field.
  • Previous responsiblity for profit and loss of a $1M+ operating budget.
  • Experience with a team of dierct report case managers/direct service providers.
  • Demonstrated capacity leading diverse and multi-disciplinary teams and hold them accountable to a common goal required.
  • Valid California driver’s license, personal vehicle, and proof of personal vehicle insurance coverage. DMV printout required.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Competitive salary $170,000 annually, exempt.

  • After 1 year of service $3,000 annual reimbursement for student loans & tuition, CEUs, etc. Up to $15,000 over 5 years.
