Head of Marketing – Avante

Role Overview


We are seeking an experienced B2B SaaS marketing leader (8+ years) to define, own, and build Avante’s marketing function from the ground up. This Head of Marketing role is a new leadership position and offers the opportunity to join Avante’s executive team, working directly with the founders to shape our go-to-market strategy.


You will craft and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy that drives pipeline generation, customer acquisition, and brand development—in alignment with our mission and revenue goals.In the short term, this is a hands-on, “player-coach” role. You’ll lead by doing: executing high-impact campaigns, launching new initiatives, and working closely with sales to build early traction. Over time, you’ll hire, mentor, and lead a team, transitioning from day-to-day execution into a true strategic leadership role.


This is a rare opportunity to build a high-impact marketing function from zero to one—while shaping the trajectory of a company redefining how benefits are delivered and experienced.


Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Marketing Leadership: Develop and own the marketing strategy—from positioning and messaging to campaign planning and budget allocation—in close partnership with founders and sales leadership.
  • Demand Generation & Pipeline Growth: Build a robust demand generation engine through digital, content, events, and ABM tactics. Drive lead generation and pipeline creation, continuously measuring and optimizing for revenue impact.
  • Hands-On Execution (Player-Coach): In the near term, roll up your sleeves and lead execution across core channels—content, paid, email, SEO, product marketing, and more. Balance strategic thinking with tactical ownership.
  • Brand & Product Messaging: Shape and evolve Avante’s brand story. Craft messaging that resonates with HR and benefits leaders, clearly communicating our value proposition and differentiation in a crowded space.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Sales, Product, and Customer Success to align messaging, launch new features, and equip go-to-market teams with content, tools, and insights.
  • Marketing Ops & Analytics: Define KPIs and build systems for measuring performance across the funnel. Track what’s working, iterate on what’s not, and manage marketing spend to maximize ROI.
  • Team Development: As the company scales, build and lead a high-performing marketing team. Identify skill gaps, recruit talent, and foster a culture of creativity, performance, and ownership.


Qualifications
  • 8+ years in B2B SaaS marketing, with a proven track record in demand generation, pipeline growth, and revenue impact.
  • Experience in early-stage startups or high-growth environments; comfortable with ambiguity and building from scratch.
  • Deep expertise in multi-channel marketing (digital, content, ABM, SEO, social, email, events).
  • Proven ability to craft positioning and messaging that resonates with technical and business buyers alike.
  • Strong data orientation—able to define metrics, interpret trends, and make decisions that drive business outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills with a knack for storytelling and translating technical solutions into real-world value.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability, with experience mentoring or managing others, even if informally.
  • Passion for Avante’s mission and a desire to make a real-world impact on how healthcare is accessed and experienced.
  • Must be based in or willing to relocate to Seattle. In-person collaboration is core to our culture (4 days/week on-site).
