Enterprise Shared Services helps keep our company growing and puts our colleagues at the center of everything they do by delivering best-in-class services that power safe, resilient, and efficient operations around the world. ESS comprises key functions that are core to the company’s operations:

  • Global Real Estate & Workplace Experience (GREWE)
  • Global Supply Management (GSM)
  • Business Continuity Management (BCM)
  • Aviation
  • Global Security

 

In the role’s LFO capacity, this Director will support the EVP leading ESS and the leaders of its associated teams. This Director will serve as the primary point of contact for various ESS business partners and liaise with other Business Unit CFO teams.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide financial management and decision support for the GREWE, GSM, BCM, Aviation, and Global Security teams
  • Build and maintain high-impact relationships with the leaders, their direct reports, and the broader ESS organization
  • Own financial planning (e.g., monthly R&Os, LRP, and Plan), results analysis, and management reporting for ESS
  • Partner with the ESS business to develop recommendations, influence outcomes, and meet business objectives
  • Transform and innovate ESS’s FP&A processes, tools, and capabilities to enhance decision making (e.g., establish robust FP&A processes, enriching existing Power BI dashboard, etc.)
  • Present to Senior Business and Finance leaders
  • Conduct Cost-Benefit Analyses (CBA) in support of Real Estate deals and long-term strategy
  • Develop ad hoc analysis to support business objectives
  • Lead and develop team of five Managers and three Analysts across New York and India

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Strong communication skills: ability to influence in a highly matrixed organization and distill complex ideas into clear messages for Finance and non-Finance audiences alike
  • A self-starter with a can-do attitude and proven track record of leading, motivating, and developing a team
  • The ability to reliably deliver against competing priorities under tight deadlines, paying meticulous attention to detail
  • Possesses tremendous relational acumen: the ability to build and leverage relationships; tap a network of partnerships across the organization to drive deliverables; gain buy-in with multiple stakeholders; and bring business partners along for the journey
  • Proven people-leader experience required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • TM1 experience strongly preferred
  • 6+ yrs experience in Finance-related roles preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related discipline strongly preferred; Master’s is a plus

Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for this position.

Salary Range: $130,000.00 to $205,000.00 annually + bonus + equity (if applicable) + benefits
