The Frameworks team empowers development across all 1Password products by providing common capabilities, patterns, and best practices to make feature development faster, easier, and safer. We develop architecture allowing features to be written once and deployed across multiple applications, including our web, desktop, and browser extension apps. We create abstractions allowing developers to operate more independently, reducing “waterfall” dependencies between front- and back-end developers, to enable faster development and experimentation.

This is a remote opportunity within Canada. This position will be for 4 months - September to December 2025.

What you can expect:

• Write clean, efficient, maintainable code to improve the Typescript developer experience at 1Password.

• Help establish and apply development best practices by developing tests, linters, and other automated tooling.

• Collaborate with feature teams to identify developer pain points and opportunities to introduce more effective, robust tooling and common capabilities.

• Participate in the full development lifecycle, including ideation, design discussions, implementation, testing, adoption, and maintenance.

Bonus points for:

• Frontend web development experience with modern Javascript frameworks like React

• Browser extension development experience

• Experience with unit, integration, and/or end-to-end testing

• Familiarity with version control systems like Git

• Familiarity with Rust and/or Web Assembly (WASM)

Our approach to remote work 
We believe in the power of remote work, but recognize that in-person connection is important to help us achieve our mission. While we are a remote-first company, travel for in-person engagement is a part of most roles. Frequency will depend on role and responsibilities, and may include, but is not limited to: annual department-wide offsites, team meetings, and customer/industry events.
