U.S. Bank is seeking the position of Senior Software Engineer – DevOps in San Francisco, California.
Essential Responsibilities:
The Senior Software Engineer – DevOps will be responsible for the design, implementation, automation, and support of cloud and on-prem based infrastructure and applications. This role requires mentoring junior employees and supervising consultants. Manage the platform and Spark/Flink based real-time streaming data pipelines. Design and implement scalable, high-performance, highly available infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines to automate the development, testing and deployment of data pipelines. Ensure that the architecture supports the seamless integration and consistent distribution of data from various applications. Develop algorithms and scripts for detecting errors/anomalies and integrate alerts with ticketing systems. Conduct regular disaster recovery exercises to ensure infrastructure and data pipelines can be quickly restored in the event of a failure. Ensure compliance with security policies and cooperate in regular security audits. Maintain and upkeep NFS servers and automate file archival and purge processes for storage efficiency and prevention of data overload. Manage JIRA dashboards to track project progress, create and prioritize user stories. Create and maintain detailed documentation in Confluence and provide related training. Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions. Optimize performance of system components and implement auto-scaling and fault tolerance. Contribute to cloud modernization efforts and stay updated with industry trends to promote innovation within the team. Position may allow working from home within commuting distance of worksite location. Multiple positions.
Basic Qualifications:
Requires at least a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Information Technology or Computer Science plus 5 years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or related.
Required Skills/Experience:
Must possess at least 5 years of experience with each of the following: (a) automating infrastructure and implementing CI/CD pipelines; (b) creating Splunk dashboards to monitor application performance; (c) implementing infrastructure on Azure; (d) creating and maintaining automation scripts for deployment; (e) deploying production applications to Kubernetes; (f) and all of the following: JIRA, Confluence, Jenkins, Docker, ServiceNow, Python, and Shell Script.
