Staff Engineer, Cloud Security
Skills
- 8+ years of information security experience focused on security engineering.
- 8+ years coding experience with languages such as Python and Bash, and automation tools.
- Deep understanding of security principles, frameworks, and best practices.
- Strong technical experience in AWS cloud security and IAM permissions design.
- Experience with security monitoring tools like SIEM and MDR.
- Knowledge of network security technologies such as firewalls and VPNs.
- Application security experience with SAST/DAST and secure coding practices.
- Familiarity with DevOps and CI/CD security integration.
Responsibilities
- Lead design and implementation of cloud, network, application security, and data protection solutions.
- Maintain and update security policies, standards, and procedures.
- Conduct security assessments, vulnerability scanning, and penetration testing.
- Refine security monitoring, logging, and alerting to detect and respond to incidents.
- Collaborate with development teams to integrate security in the SDLC.
- Provide expert guidance on security matters to engineering and operations teams.
- Research and evaluate new security technologies and solutions.
- Participate in incident response, including investigation and remediation.
- Deliver secure code development training and mentor engineering team members.
- Stay current with security trends and regulations compliance such as SOC 2, NIST, HIPAA, and HITRUST.
- Provide advanced troubleshooting for security-related issues.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field preferred.
