Overview

Fabric is UNION's engine for continuous improvement—the compound interest of manufacturing. Today, integrating equipment into factories is slow, expensive, and brittle. Fabric replaces legacy SCADA with a schema-driven, automated integration platform, cutting down equipment onboarding from weeks to hours, and laying the foundation for truly software-driven manufacturing.

Your immediate goal: deliver Fabric at Factory 1 Line 1 in Dallas, then scale globally.

What Success Looks Like (Next 24 Months)

• Factory 1, Line 1 Operational: Fabric delivers target OEE and full visibility from production launch.
  

• Scalable Deployment Playbook: Establish infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and templated integrations, enabling rapid global expansion.
  

• Team Built: Scale to a multidisciplinary team covering controls, Industrial Automation Controls, DevOps, UI, and platform.
  

• High-Availability & Compliant: Achieve CMMC/ITAR compliance standards seamlessly, ensuring reliability at scale.
  

• Industry Influence: Fabric becomes synonymous with modern manufacturing flexibility—making a clear statement to the world about our capability to build rapidly and adaptively, in stark contrast to traditional prime contractors. Fabric may even emerge as its own standalone product, enabling truly flexible "factory as a stockpile" readiness.
  

Responsibilities

• Architect & Deploy: Lead end-to-end platform design from edge to cloud; write and validate critical deployment code.
  

• Continuous Improvement: Drive real-time operational enhancements and platform refinements.
  

• Team Development: Recruit, mentor, and manage engineering talent across key technical domains.
  

• Platform Rigor: Set robust CI/CD, security, and reliability standards balanced with deployment speed.
  

• Technical Integration: Collaborate closely with in-house MES product (Faction)
  

• Industry Leadership: Influence vendor standards and advocate for platform adoption

Requirements

• 5+ years designing and deploying significant platforms that command or control hardware
  

• Proven hands-on leadership taking a platform from prototype to high-availability production.
  

• Expertise with Rust, Go, or comparable system languages; comfortable spanning edge to cloud environments.
  

• Familiarity with OT networks and protocols (e.g., OPC UA, MQTT) and foundational PLC/control systems knowledge.
  

• Excel when empowered with autonomy, clear objectives, and value-driven guardrails, free to achieve outcomes your own way

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with digital twins or simulation-based optimization.
  

• Background in regulated industries (defense, aerospace).
  

• Track record creating data-driven products enhancing operational efficiency (OEE, predictive analytics)
