About the Department

The Section of Biomedical Data Science in the Department of Medicine is unique in its focus on predictive modelling of medical data.


Job Summary

The Research Assistant will provide support for claims/electronic medical records harmonization, programming, data analysis, running models for data analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Curates medical records.
  • Implements computational workflows.
  • Attends and documents conference calls with collaborators across the globe.
  • Follows-up on research tasks.
  • Documents workflows and intermediate results.
  • Writes drafts for research papers.
  • This job provides technical and administrative support in a laboratory environment performing basic laboratory techniques, research and analysis under direction.
  • Provides routine or standardized laboratory duties by collecting data in support of research projects under direct supervision.
  • Performs other related work as needed.


Minimum Qualifications

Education:

Minimum requirements include vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field (not typically required to have a four-year degree).


Work Experience:

Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through < 2 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree.​

Experience:

  • Demonstrated skills in learning new data science-related techniques.
  • Previous experience working in a data science area.​

Technical Skills or Knowledge:

  • Knowledge and experience with data science basics (Python, R, sqlite3).
