Join the MercyOne Family! We are looking to hire a Manager of Accreditation, Regulatory and Risk Management.

The purpose of the Manager of Accreditation/Regulatory and Risk Management is to lead, implement and manage systems and process related to accreditation/regulatory and risk management at MercyOne Waterloo, Northeast Iowa that ensures regulatory compliance, enhances patient safety, and minimizes liability exposure.

  • The manager provides leadership in regulatory compliance and activities, in collaboration with the health care team members across the continuum of care, and serves as the lead resource in the area of Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), The Joint Commission (TJC) and other regulatory agencies.  
  • The manager is also accountable for the risk management activities that minimize exposure and proactively reduce risk to customers and ministry/system and are in compliance with regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies. 
  • The manager collaborates with local leadership (President, Chief Operating Officer (COO), Chief Nursing Officer (CNO), and Chief Medical Officer (CMO) in ensuring effective implementation and support of the accreditation and risk management plan/program.

Schedule:

Full time exempt, day shift

Position will cover Waterloo Medical Center, Cedar Falls Medical Center and Oelwein Medical Center.

General Requirements:

  • Iowa licensure as a Registered Nurse
  • Current Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) by the American Society for Healthcare Risk Management (ASHRM) required, or obtained within 3 years of hire.
  • Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in a health care setting.  Risk management and/or performance improvement experience required. Regulatory, TJC, CPHQ and/or performance improvement experience required.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing, health administration or related field required (Master’s degree preferred).
