Job Description
The Research Engineer I position involves the design and development of custom software solutions (i.e., mobile and/or desktop applications, web services, APIs, etc.) to meet customer requirements of the Texas A&M Center for Applied Technology. Specific technical activities include evaluating project requirements to determine the best solution for a problem, designing, implementing, testing, and debugging applications in various programming languages, developing associated software documentation, performing software support and maintenance as needed, and other related duties as assigned. Candidates must be able to work independently as well as part of a team, and write clean, elegant code that maximizes functionality and efficiency. Those who are self-motivated, curious, adaptive, and exercise independent thought and judgment are the primary candidates for this opportunity. Candidates should have a desire to stay abreast of changes in technology as it relates to their work, and must be able to evaluate and identify new technologies to support projects.
