The salary is effective July 1, 2025.
The incumbent will also receive an additional 5% King County pay on each pay statement.
This position is located approximately 30 minutes from downtown North Bend, WA at the beautiful campus of the Washington State Fire Training Academy.

About the Position:
The Assistant Division Commander of the Fire Training Division (FTD) acts as the assistant to the Division Commander and reports directly to the Division Commander and serves as the Division Commander in his/her absence.
The position has decision-making responsibility for ensuring safe training and day to day operations at the Fire Training Academy (FTA) and in the Regional Direct Delivery (RDDP). This position is authorized to stop any and all operations that are deemed to be in violation of health and safety standards or best practices. This position also has the responsibility to ensure the FTA is fully compliant with all environmental permits.

About the Division:
The Fire Training Division is one of two divisions within the Fire Protection Bureau. Outside of the Washington State Patrol, the FTD is known as the Fire Training Academy. The FTA operates a 51-acre live fire training facility located in North Bend, Washington and provides classroom, hands-on, and live fire training to the fire service, the military, law enforcement and other safety and industrial professionals. The FTA also coordinates and administers the Regional Direct Delivery which provides basic firefighter training to volunteers throughout the state in the communities they serve.

Required Qualifications:-
Five years of management experience OR five years' experience as a Chief level officer in a fire department OR four years' experience as a Chief Deputy State Fire Marshal.
