Tax Associate
Position Summary
As a Tax Associate, you will be responsible for preparing individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns, conducting basic tax research, and supporting our senior professionals on a range of compliance and advisory projects. This is an excellent opportunity to build a foundation in public accounting and U.S. tax while learning directly from experienced professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare federal and state income tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, and trusts.
- Assist with tax planning and compliance for a diverse set of clients.
- Perform basic tax research and document findings.
- Organize and analyze financial data to support accurate tax filings.
- Communicate with clients to collect information and clarify questions.
- Maintain knowledge of current tax laws and developments.
- Assist with tax projections and year-end planning.
- Support senior team members with audits and IRS/state correspondence as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s in Taxation or progress toward preferred).
- CPA eligible or pursuing CPA certification.
- 0–2 years of relevant experience, including internships in public accounting or tax preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and tax preparation software a plus (CCH Axcess)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to learn and grow in a collaborative environment.
