Job Description

The successful candidate will work closely with internal engineering teams including firmware, architecture, design, power/thermal, and supplier teams to ensure validation coverage and world class quality and reliability for the company's Solid State Drives (SSDs). Using gathered data, the candidate will execute a comprehensive qualification plan aimed at ensuring the reliability and quality of SSD products. In addition to validation and reliability tasks, this internship presents a software development opportunity with exposure to C++/Python programming and Full Stack development (AngularJS, SQL, REST, etc.). The internship’s goal is to provide hands-on experience in engineering applications tailored specifically for validation, emphasizing the creation of software to stress-test and evaluate product reliability.

Responsibilities may be quite diverse of a nonexempt technical nature. U.S. experience and education requirements will vary significantly depending on the unique needs of the job. Job assignments are usually for the summer or for short periods during breaks from school.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Candidate must be enrolled/pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or a related discipline.

Required Qualifications:

  • Must be able to work onsite at our Sacramento location
  • Excellent communication skills and a team player
  • Strong research and writing skills
  • Good time management
  • Critical thinking skills
  • Experience with Windows Office suites and Windows/Linux environments
  • Self-motivator

Preferred Qualifications:

6 Month Experience in the following areas:

  • Systems Engineering
  • Semiconductor devices/processes and circuit design/validation
  • Storage products
  • PCIe interface, NVMe protocol
  • SQL database
  • Scripting language such as Perl, Python
  • Statistical analysis 
  • Project Management
