Risk Management and Strategy
Develop, implement, and maintain a risk framework (people, processes, and technology) tailored to professionals servicing and repairing pools and spas.
Lead the development of robust operational policies and procedures to support seamless payment processing for Skimmer customers, while balancing risk exposure.
Identify, assess, and mitigate operational, financial, and compliance risks across the organization as they relate to facilitating embedded payment processing and fintech offerings for Skimmer users.
Collaborate with leadership to set clear risk appetite and tolerance levels aligned with Skimmer’s goals.
Payment Processing & Compliance
Oversee payment processing risk, including transaction monitoring, chargeback prevention, fraud detection, merchant monitoring and vendor management.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, such as PCI DSS, KYC, AML, and other applicable payment industry standards.
Collaborate with third-party payment providers to strengthen controls and optimize payment flows for customers.
Collaborate with finance and product teams to implement policies to ensure secure handling of payment data and compliance with data privacy requirements.
Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner cross-functionally with product, engineering, finance, account management, and customer success teams to ensure operational processes support exceptional user experiences, while limiting loss exposure for Skimmer and its customers.
Foster a culture of risk awareness and accountability across Skimmer and with its customers.
Provide clear communication and actionable insights to leadership regarding emerging operational risks and mitigation plans.

Within three months you will have developed a deep understanding of Skimmer’s payment processing landscape and risk exposure, and will have rolled up your sleeves to enhance and refine key operational processes.
Within six months, you will have designed and implemented an updated risk management framework that balances business growth with compliance, security, and loss prevention. You’ll also have built strong relationships with cross-functional stakeholders and earned their trust as a collaborative leader.
Within twelve months, you will have delivered measurable improvements in payment processing risk and applied your innovative mindset to help grow Skimmer’s payments and fintech offerings.
Experience in risk management, payments operations, and compliance, ideally within a vertical SaaS company or payfac (experience in the service industry and payment solutions is preferred).
Proven expertise in developing and executing risk management frameworks that span operational, financial, and regulatory domains.
Outstanding ability to balance risk and growth.
Proficiency in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risk, with a data-driven and collaborative approach.
High emotional intelligence (EQ) and the ability to build trust across teams and communicate complex risk concepts in clear, actionable ways.
Experience with tools such as risk management software, payment processing platforms, and compliance monitoring tools (experience working with Stripe preferred)
