Responsibilities

Job Description:

 

Peraton is seeking a Software Engineering, Sr Advisor SME to join an existing Streaming Analytics team. The Software Engineer will become a member of a mature software development effort using Java as the primary language. The development effort uses Agile methods to assign, track and manage development requirements and activities within the team. Telework is available on an ad hoc, "as tasking allows" basis according to what is in the current sprint. It is possible but not guaranteed. Day to day duties may include:

 

• Develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse software systems• Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements• Debug existing software and designs and codes new software or modify existing software to add new features• Recommend new technologies and processes for complex software projects• Serve as the technical lead for multiple software development sub-teams within a sprint• Select the software development process in coordination with the customer and system engineering• Ensure quality control of all developed and modified software.• Apache Flink, Performance tuning/code optimization, Java, Kubernetes, Apache Pulsar• Domain and Project analysis and project management

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Active TS/SCI clearance with current polygraph required• Twenty (20) years of experience as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required• Four (4) years of additional software engineering experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelor’s degree• Nifi dataflow experience• Configuration expertise

 

Preferred Qualifications:

• Demonstrated work experience with analytics or analytic frameworks such as Apache Flink• Familiarity with containers and container orchestration systems such as Docker and Kubernetes. • Demonstrated work experience developing RESTful services

Target Salary Range

$146,000 - $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
