Responsibilities

Peraton is developing the next generation of mission planning and command-and-control software for space communications programs. Our team is responsible for creating modern, resilient services and capabilities that will support the U.S. Government’s critical space communications infrastructure for the next decade and beyond.

As a Senior UI Software Developer, you will play a pivotal role in building a cutting-edge ground communications and data-transport platform for U.S. government satellites. You will design and develop core platform services that enable secure, scalable, and efficient satellite operations. In this role, you will contribute as an individual developer while supporting technical decisions to ensure platform excellence.

 

What you'll do:

• Build high-performance, secure, and well-tested web applications with a strong emphasis on automation and security
• Design, enhance, and refine APIs to improve communication between front-end and backend software services
• Create and translate design mockups into functional, visually appealing user interfaces using modern front-end frameworks (FastAPI, SQLAlchemy, PostgREST, Svelte, React, CesiumJS) and technologies like Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS, and Kubernetes
• Advocate for enhancements in product quality, security, and performance, focusing on improvements that benefit your team and others

Qualifications

Required qualifications:

• 10+ years of software engineering experience and an Associates Degree; OR 8+ years of software engineering experience and a Bachelors Degree. Four (4) additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. 
• This position requires the candidate possess a minimum of Top-Secret clearance with ability to upgrade to TS/SCI and pass a polygraph within 30 days of employment or at customers request- contract requires TS/SCI with poly. The candidate must maintain the clearance
• 3+ years of progressively responsible experience in web development, specializing in modern software engineering practices and user-centric design
• Extensive expertise in JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and TypeScript, along with proficiency in front-end frameworks such as React and Svelte
• Deep understanding of key web development concepts, including caching strategies, authentication mechanisms, and Content Security Policy (CSP), ensuring secure and optimized user experiences

Desired qualifications:

• Proven ability to adapt across multiple roles including web design, UX design, and front-end engineering, ensuring a cohesive and user-centric development approach
• Strong understanding of backend development, with hands-on experience integrating front-end interfaces with backend systems, coupled with a proactive mindset to troubleshoot and refine backend functionality when necessary

Target Salary Range

$112,000 - $179,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
