Job Description

Your Career

AI and automation are key enablers for Palo Alto Networks to grow at the scale and speed necessary to support our cybersecurity customers. As the Principal Product Manager for the Enterprise AI Platform, you will be at the forefront of identifying significant opportunities and driving the product vision, strategies, and roadmaps for our foundational AI infrastructure and tooling. This platform will enable widespread AI development across IT and all enterprise business functions (such as marketing, sales, HR, legal, customer support, product, etc.), supporting both code-based and low-code/no-code approaches. You will work across multiple aspects of our enterprise, partnering with relevant AI engineering, data science, and IT operations teams, as well as internal application teams, to achieve a bold vision for AI-driven transformation. Your strategic mindset will be crucial in developing path-breaking solutions that accelerate the journey from AI concept to large-scale deployment, enhancing developer productivity and enabling innovative AI applications across the organization.

Your Impact

  • Platform Vision & Strategy: Define and champion a bold, AI-first product vision and strategic roadmap for the Enterprise AI Platform, ensuring its alignment with broader organizational goals and the needs of internal AI developers and application teams.

  • Internal Developer/User-Centric Product Development: Cultivate deep empathy for your internal customers (data scientists, ML engineers, software engineers, citizen developers) to collaboratively gather and translate complex needs into robust problem statements, clear feature requirements, and intuitive platform experiences for AI development and deployment.

  • Data-Driven & Outcome-Focused Execution: Champion an outcome-driven approach by defining clear success criteria, metrics, and dashboards for platform adoption, efficiency, and impact. Incorporate data, research, and analysis of platform usage, performance, and developer feedback to inform product strategies, guide prioritization, and make decisions.

  • Full Lifecycle & Cross-Functional Leadership: Lead the end-to-end product lifecycle for the Enterprise AI Platform – from ideation and platform capability definition to launch and iteration – by directing and motivating cross-functional teams through influence, coordinating resources, and guiding them through key milestones to deliver high-quality, scalable, and secure platform services efficiently.

  • AI/ML Platform Expertise & Application: Apply deep expertise in AI, automation, MLOps, LLMs, and Generative AI to identify the right platform technologies and capabilities for enabling impactful use cases across enterprise functions. This includes areas like data pipelines, model training infrastructure, inference services, model registries, experimentation platforms, and responsible AI tooling.

  • Culture of Innovation & Learning: Foster a culture of rapid iteration, experimentation, and continuous learning within the platform team and its users. Maintain a strong curiosity regarding the evolving AI/ML and MLOps landscape, proactively integrating internal customer feedback and identifying new platform technologies to drive ongoing enterprise AI transformation.

  • Stakeholder Communication & Influence: Excel in communication by delivering impactful technical presentations and authoring documents with extreme clarity to articulate platform strategy, value proposition, progress, and insights to diverse audiences, including executive leadership, internal business stakeholders, and technical development teams.

  • Platform Governance & Best Practices: Partner with the Distinguished AI Architect to define and enforce platform governance, security, responsible AI guidelines, and best practices for AI development and deployment across the organization, ensuring the platform facilitates compliant and ethical AI applications.

     

Qualifications

Your Experience 

  • Minimum 10+ years of product management experience, with a significant 3-5 years of domain-specific experience launching and scaling core AI/ML platforms, MLOps tools, or foundational data science infrastructure in an enterprise environment.

  • Proven success in managing the entire lifecycle of platform-level products, including ideation, incorporating internal user feedback into requirements, driving prioritization, and leading pre/post-launch execution with measurable impact on developer productivity and platform adoption.

  • Demonstrated strategic mindset, with experience defining and executing innovative product strategies for enterprise-grade AI platforms and aligning them with broader business objectives.

  • Strong technical background in AI/ML, well-versed in LLMs, Generative AI concepts, MLOps principles, and their practical application in building scalable platform services.

  • Extensive experience working in a fast-paced, technical environment, leading broad, cross-functional engineering teams (Data Scientists, ML Engineers, Data Engineers, DevOps) to define product vision, crystalize requirements, and guide projects through key milestones.

  • Hands-on experience with platform UX/developer experience principles and a track record of developing intuitive interfaces and APIs for technical users, coupled with a strong sense of internal customer empathy.

  • Exceptional ability to manage ambiguity and unpredictability inherent in the AI/ML domain, demonstrating enthusiasm, adaptability, and resilience in a constantly evolving, fluid environment.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with proven experience using large-scale platform usage data to inform decisions, drive strategy, and influence stakeholders.

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with experience delivering compelling technical presentations, authoring clear and concise documentation, and effectively engaging with both technical and non-technical audiences at all levels.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects, effectively prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.

  • A proactive, team-oriented individual with a "can-do" attitude and a strong curiosity that fuels continuous learning in the rapidly evolving AI and enterprise technology landscape.

Compensation Disclosure

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/commissioned roles) is expected to be between $0 - $0/YR.
