Northrop Grumman Space Systems Sector, Tactical Space Systems Division (TSSD) is seeking a qualified Staff Systems Engineer for the role of System Thread Lead for a Satellite Mission program. This position is located on-site in Dulles, VA. Successful candidates for this position will work in a technical systems thread (i.e. one or more subsystems) lead role for the Satellite Missions business area and offers the opportunity to work on exciting, cutting-edge programs and new mission areas.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Develop and review requirements, verification plans, and architecture at all levels of the System
• Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
• Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into lower level specifications
• Integrate complex design elements across multiple teams and vendors of the program
• Coordinate with all levels of the program to ensure a comprehensive system design
• Ensure system hardware and software teams are developing and design their content that meet the system requirements
• Provide subject matter expertise for the Thread to the program
• Brief program leadership, customers, and stakeholders on the on the Thread
• Engage in formal and informal mentoring to support knowledge transfer and talent development.
• Performing demonstrations and conducting briefings explaining test procedures and processes

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field with at least 12 years of applicable experience or Master’s degree with 10 years of applicable experience.
• Must have US Citizenship with current or active Top Secret Clearance with SCI eligibility at time of application.
• Experience in systems engineering to include architectural studies, technical baseline definition, requirements & interface management, hardware/software integration, test planning & execution, or operational support

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience coordinating the efforts of diverse stakeholders
• Experience in system architecture, CONOPs development, or model-based system engineering
• Experience with various technical tools such as MATLAB, STK, CORE, DOORS, or CAMEO
• Current or active TS/SCI Clearance

Salary Range: $171,000.00 - $256,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
