Metro Lutheran Ministry, one of greater Kansas City's leading nonprofit social service agencies, seeks a dynamic, savvy individual to to join our growing team, fulfilling the role of Executive Assistant.

This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position supporting finance, communications, development, and general organizational operations at the MLM Central office, located in midtown Kansas City, MO.

Job Description
The Executive Assistant supports the agency as the primary liaison between the development and finance teams and general organizational operations. The successful candidate will assist the management team with all phases of communications, development and finance activities as well as perform duties essential to running and maintaining the administrative functions of the organization. Other support duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelors Degree preferred. Continuing education in Accounting/Business/Communications helpful.

Experience with basic A/R accounting functions, social & digital media, and office administration is preferred. Previous experience with Raiser’s Edge, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is highly desirable. Experience with accounting software systems, Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, and social media platforms is necessary.

The qualified candidate will maintain extreme attention to detail, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, have the ability to work under pressure, have patience and kindness. They will be able to perform multiple tasks, and meet deadlines with professionalism and accuracy. Cultural sensitivity and competence, and extreme attention to confidentiality is necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supports the Leadership team in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
  • Arranges logistics for Board of Directors meetings
  • Maintains MLM’s donor and volunteer information in Raiser’s Edge, including entry of accurate data, daily entries of accounts receivable and in-kind donations and gifts, batch posting to Financial Edge, & constituent record updates.
  • Assist with/perform payroll duties as assigned
  • Prospect research
  • Conduct direct mail and email communications, internally and externally, including design
  • Prepare and coordinate social media postings and schedule as needed
  • Special event support
  • Financial and grant reporting support including maintenance of reporting calendar
  • Assist in review and submission of grant applications and financial reporting
  • Maintain agency website and social media platforms
  • Manage agency digital forms platforms (JotForm)
  • Prepares acknowledgments, donor communication, and coordinates mail and email campaigns to MLM constituents
  • Coordinates purchase of supplies and equipment
  • Responsible for maintaining all copiers and office equipment
  • Represents and promotes MLM to the community in a positive and professional manner
  • General clerical duties (e.g. taking minutes, mail distribution)
  • Provides administrative support for all agency efforts and events
  • Other duties as assigned

Compensation
MLM endeavours to offer a competitive salary and benefits package. Salary range for this position is $40,000-$50,000 annually, DOQ ($20-$26/hour). Benefits include: 20 days PTO per calendar year (pro-rated to date of hire); 13 annual paid holidays; 100% employer paid health, vision, dental, life, LTD/STD; employer contribution toward dependent health, vision, and dental; 403b with employer match.
