Software Engineer, Internal Apps (Backend)

Harbinger Motors is an American EV company focused on innovating medium-duty electric and hybrid commercial vehicles. They are seeking a skilled Backend Software Engineer with expertise in Go and cloud infrastructure to develop scalable, secure backend systems that support vehicle and connected services.

Skills

3+ years backend development experience, primarily in Go/Golang.
Design and implementation of event-driven and real-time notification systems.
Strong AWS cloud services knowledge including EC2, S3, Lambda, DynamoDB, RDS, SQS, SNS, and IoT Core.
Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (AWS CDK, Terraform).
Familiarity with IoT protocols like MQTT and Protobuf.
Knowledge of authentication/security standards such as JWT, OAuth2, mTLS, and TLS 1.3.
Experience integrating third-party APIs and services.
Testing mindset with experience writing unit, integration, and end-to-end tests.
Proficiency in CI/CD pipelines and Docker.
Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, debugging, communication, and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable and secure backend services and APIs using Go.
Build and optimize event-driven systems and real-time notification pipelines for high-throughput vehicle telemetry.
Architect and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS using Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as AWS CDK and Terraform.
Develop and integrate IoT protocols (MQTT, Protobuf) for real-time vehicle communication.
Implement authentication and security standards including JWT, OAuth2, mTLS, and TLS 1.3.
Integrate with third-party APIs and services including payment gateways and charging networks.
Write comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure code quality.
Contribute to CI/CD, Dockerization, and modern development workflows for efficient software delivery.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver integrated solutions.
Troubleshoot and debug complex backend system issues.
Stay updated with emerging technologies and participate in architectural discussions.

Education

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (preferred).
