Senior Planner

Job Description

Dewberry is currently seeking a Senior Planner to join our Real Estate and Commercial Development Team based out of our Danville, VA office. The role will focus on leading specific programs and teams to support land planning and development for private sector clientele including engaging authorities having jurisdiction over development projects to coordinate and lead permitting efforts required for design and construction. The successful candidate will have administrative, technical, project/program management, and client facing responsibilities to manage project schedules and coordinate critical permitting requirements for local jurisdictions.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively with local and geographically dispersed teams of professionals.
• Manage schedules, deliverable execution to ensure entitlement requirements are met for a large volume of projects.
• Experience in the commercial development, land planning, civil engineering, or related field.
• Strong communication, public speaking, and organizational skills required.
• Ability to work on multiple project assignments concurrently.
• Ability to work and interact with clients, maintain project budgets and schedules.
• Desire to work in a team environment.

Required Skills & Required Experience

• BA or BS Degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or related field
• 10+ years of experience in Development and Land Planning or related
• PE or AICP professional registration preferred
• Strong program management skills utilizing schedule software, as well as Microsoft Office programs.
• Candidate must be willing to travel.
