CORPORATE DEVELOPMENT SENIOR ANALYST

POSITION SUMMARY:   

In this role you will create meaningful business impact by helping shape the course of the company’s future growth. As a Senior Analyst, you will closely participate in M&A and BD transactions and will have day-to-day responsibilities across a number of activities including opportunity evaluation, financial analysis, deal execution and related project management. You will be part of a dynamic team which works across the entire organization and has high visibility with Senior Management.

This position has the potential to be fully remote. Occasional travel will be required for in person meetings.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

• Help drive various Corporate Development efforts by providing high quality business and market insights to help inform decision making
• Lead advanced financial modeling and analysis of potential targets including valuation, financial statement analysis and discounted cash flow analysis
• Participate in ideation of novel partnering strategies and creative deal structures
• Support and at times lead various aspects of the transaction process (opportunity evaluation, due diligence review, valuation, structuring, negotiation and contracting, internal governance, and closing process)
• Prepare in-depth analyses on industry segments, key trends and competitive dynamics
• Work closely with team to establish and maintain relationships with pharma and BD counterparts, bankers, alternative financing providers, consultants and vendors
• Help establish key internal operational and governance processes for Corporate Development
• Help build and maintain Corporate Development toolbox of external data sources and analytical tools as well as internal databases and templates
• Position can be remote
• Travel 25-30%, including some international

QUALIFICATIONS  

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Economics or degree in a relevant life science field preferred
• 2-4 years experience in Investment Banking, Life Sciences Consulting or a Pharma / Biotech Corporate Development role a must
• Substantial experience in financial modeling and valuation
• Excellent quantitative, analytical and research skills with acute attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong motivation and work ethic and ability to work independently and in a dynamic team environment across multiple functional areas
• Excellent time management skills as well as the ability to prioritize among multiple projects
• Creative problem solving skills
• Confidence in presenting to management

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS 

The salary range for this position is $120,000 - $135,000. Day One considers a range of factors when determining base compensation. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary.
