The Mission of the San Francisco Department of Public Health (SFDPH) is to protect and promote the health of all San Franciscans. SFDPH strives to achieve its mission through the work of multiple divisions - the San Francisco Health Network, Population Health, Behavioral Health Services, and Administration. The San Francisco Health Network is the City’s only complete system of care and has locations throughout the City, including Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center, Laguna Honda Hospital and Rehabilitation Center, and over 15 primary care health centers. The Population Health Division (PHD) provides core public health services for the City and County of San Francisco: health protection, health promotion, disease and injury prevention, and disaster preparedness and response. Behavioral Health Services operates in conjunction with SFHN and provides a range of mental health and substance use treatment services.
The mission of Maternal, Child, Adolescent Health (MCAH) Section is to promote the health and well-being of San Francisco residents of childbearing age, infants, children and adolescents. MCAH focuses on populations at increased risk of adverse health outcomes by virtue of financial, language or cultural barriers, racism, or mental or physical disabilities, including but not limited to women, infants, and children in/out of their homes and communities, most notably Latino and African-American patient populations.

Under general direction, the Nurse Manager has responsibility for leadership, human resources, budget, operations and continuous improvement of their program(s).
Essential Duties
The Nurse Manager (MCAH) performs the following essential job functions:
MCAH Program-Specific Duties:
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. LICENSE: Possession of a valid, including temporary or interim, California Registered Nurse License issued by the Board of Registered Nursing (BRN); AND
2. CERTIFICATE: Possession of a Public Health Nurse certificate issued by the State
Department of Public Health; AND
3. EDUCATION: Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and/or
university in Nursing, Nursing Administration or a closely related field; AND
4. EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years (equivalent to 4,000 hours) of experience as a Registered Nurse in a general acute care hospital, ambulatory clinic, or community/public health setting, including one (1) year (equivalent to 2,000 hours) in a supervisory capacity, within the last five (5) years; AND
5. EXPERIENCE: One (1) year (equivalent to 2,000 hours) of experience in a community or public health setting; OR a Master's Degree in Community Health, Case Management, or Public Health.

Assessment Component
Candidates that meet the minimum qualifications will be invited to participate in a Training & Experience (T&E) questionnaire that is designed to measure the knowledge, skills, and abilities in job related areas that have been identified as critical for satisfactory performance in this position.
T&E (Weight: 100%)
Candidates must achieve a passing score on the T&E questionnaire in order to continue in the selection process and will be placed on the confidential eligible list in rank order according to their final score.
Additional selection processes may be conducted by the hiring department prior to making final hiring decisions.
Certification
The certification rule for the eligible list resulting from this examination will be the Rule of 10 Scores.
