Your Role at Cabot

Cabot has an exciting opportunity for a Supply Chain Planner to join the Performance Chemicals businesses at the Alpharetta, GA location. This role focuses on the management of the demand and supply planning for the North America region as a trusted advisor to manufacturing, commercial, transportation and logistics, and purchasing teams. The ideal individual for this role is well-versed in statistical forecasting, demand planning, supply planning, demand management, strong ability to review/interpret data and present recommendations and findings to business leaders. 

This role is based at the Alpharetta, GA location, but is eligible to participate in the current Hybrid Working Arrangement program (Monday/Friday remote and Tuesday-Thursday in office).

How You Will Make an Impact

In this role your primary duty will be to establish and lead trusted-advisor relationships with manufacturing, commercial, product management. transportation and logistics, and purchasing teams to facilitate the execution of demand and supply plans to fulfill customer demand with excellent service. The position is focused on statistical forecasting and collaboration with the commercial team to develop a demand forecast; and developing and analyzing the production and inventory plans in line with Cabot’s goals and facilitating their execution in alignment with Business product management direction.

Using your knowledge, interpersonal skills, energy, and great personality, you will build trusted advisor relationships with leaders in commercial, product management and manufacturing and logistics to provide options and recommendations to resolve challenges. This role requires a highly intelligent self-motivated person with a positive attitude, a ton of good energy, strong organization skills, and urgency to make things happen. A successful candidate will be someone who can:

• Work with commercial, product management, manufacturing, and purchasing teams to develop and execute supply and demand plans for business validation and execution.
• Lead/Participate in monthly calls to fully engage commercial, operations and business teams.
• Analyze issues within the supply chain, develop options, and make recommendations for the best course of action.
• Work daily with manufacturing plants and customer care to resolve supply for exceptional customer orders.
• Plan inter-company product transfers and determine plant capacity utilization and inventory projections.
• Use Blue Yonder/JDA, excel, and other data analysis and reporting tools to fulfill demand and supply planning responsibilities.

What You Will Bring to Cabot

• Bachelor’s degree (Materials Management, Industrial Engineering, Physical Science, Engineering or a related field is preferred)
• 5+ years related professional experience (i.e. supply planning, demand planning, purchasing, logistics, business-to-business customer support, etc)
• Experience in the field of supply chain planning, production planning or plant scheduling.
• Experience working in an ERP system (SAP, JDE, etc) and a Business Analytics reporting system (BI, etc)
• Experience working in Supply Chain Planning software (SAP, Manugistics, JDA, etc)
• Demonstrated competency with cross-functional engagement and collaboration
• Proven analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
• Proficient in MS Excel, Word, Powerpoint
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Working knowledge of material planning principles
