BMO Bank N.A. seeks Specialist III-IC Development in Chicago, IL to Translate user needs into technical specifications, write code, and manage preparation of design specifications. Drive the overall software development lifecycle including working across functional teams to transform requirements into features, coordinating with development teams and processes, and conducting software testing and maintenance. Support system design, provide advice on security requirements, and debug business systems and service applications. Utilize expertise of algorithms, data structures, and programming languages to develop high quality technology applications and services including tools, standards, and relevant software platforms based on business requirements. Analyze, develop, test, and implement new software programs and documentation of entire software development life cycle execution. Perform preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and fault rectification of system and core software components. Ensure that code/configurations adhere to security, logging, error handling, and performance standards and non-functional requirements. Evaluate new technologies for fit with the program, system, or ecosystem, and the associated upstream and downstream impacts on process, data, and risk. Follow release management processes and standards, and apply version controls.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus five (5) years of experience as a Software Engineer, Web Developer, or related occupation developing app technical design, estimating, implementation, documentation, testing, and deployment as part of the full software development life cycle. Employer will alternatively accept a Master’s degree Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus three (3) years of experience as a Software Engineer, Web Developer, or related occupation developing app technical design, estimating, implementation, documentation, testing, and deployment as part of the full software development life cycle. The position requires experience with the following: Developing end to end solutions using Python, Java and J2EE technologies, ensuring robust backend functionality and seamless integration with frontend components; Performing front end development utilizing JavaScript, React, and Angular; Building dynamic and interactive user interfaces for web applications; Utilizing Kubernetes containerization technologies for deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications, ensuring high availability and resource optimization; Building scalable, secure, and resilient applications using AWS services for storage, computing, networking, and deployment; and coordinating and automating infrastructure deployment using tools such as Helm and streamlining the development and deployment process. Up to 10% international travel required. Position is remote and can be performed from anywhere in the U.S.

The salary for this specific position in Chicago, IL is $143,165/year.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
