Responsibilities

As a Summer Underwriting Intern with Berkley Re, you will be exposed to various aspects of the reinsurance business including account management, marketing, technical service and project management. You will gain hands-on industry experience working alongside Senior Reinsurance Account Executives to assist in a variety of tasks and projects related to underwriting and marketing. Key functions include but are not limited to:

• Participate in a rotational program to learn reinsurance “basics”
• Develop and present a research project to the underwriting team based on knowledge gained throughout the program
• Assist Underwriters in projects related to underwriting and marketing

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled at a 4-year college or university
• Eager to learn and an able to self-motivate
• Numerically literate in basic math and statistical concepts
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Interested in building relationships with colleagues and peers
• Able to maintain several concurrent tasks in an organized fashion
• Adaptable to a variety of administrative and project-oriented duties
