Job Description

AECOM has a unique opportunity for a Project Manager within our Environmental business line to be based in our AECOM office in either Conshohocken or Philadelphia, PA.  Project Managers are responsible for overseeing or supporting multiple projects to ensure the successful achievement of both internal and client-facing KPIs and project goals. This role requires a skilled professional who can effectively interface with clients, lead and support business development initiatives, and drive strategic solutions across a portfolio of remediation sites. Candidates with proven experience in technical roles involving the investigation and remediation of environmental contaminants are strongly preferred.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

Project Delivery:

  • Supports AECOM project and operations managers conducting environmental investigation, monitoring, and remediation work on a portfolio of remediation sites
  • Drafts, reviews, and finalizes technical reports prepared for clients and regulatory agencies like PADEP and USEPA
  • Oversees project budgets and financial performance
  • Drives program performance to meet and/or exceed client satisfaction and KPIs
  • Develops and formulates solutions to client problems/issues 
  • Participates in project reviews of major program/project dashboards/deep dives to identify issues and improve performance
  • Organically grow current portfolios through exceptional project delivery and client relationships
  • Perform occasional local field work, site walks, or inspections as needed

People:

  • Builds, maintains, and facilitates trusting relationships with key contacts across the depth and breadth of client organizations
  • Serves as a focal point for project issue resolution, and provide rapid follow-up to address concerns
  • Health and safety stewardship, including local field visits

 

     

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements

    • BA/BS in geology, engineering, environmental science, or a related field with 2 years of relevant work experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
    • Experience conducting site investigations / characterizations, remedial investigations, feasibility studies, and environmental remediation activities
    • Ability to travel for on-site meetings and to develop client relationships
    • Valid Driver's License, subject to a pre-employment Motor Vehicle Record Screening as well as Drug Screening
    • US citizenship is required 

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 5+ years overall professional experience
    • PG or PE preferred
    • Master's Degree a plus in Geology, Engineering, Science or related field
    • Verifiable experience performing and managing investigation/remediation of chemical / industrial / refining sites
    • Experience with PA Act 2 and/or USEPA Superfund Sites
    • Experience in team management and scheduling of staff and resources to ensure on time and on budget project delivery
    • Experience preparing proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and change orders
    • Strong understanding and has led professional teams in executing Site Investigations, Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, Risk Assessment, and Treatability Studies
    • Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal
    • Excellent client management skills
    • Detail oriented with strong organizational and communication skills (both verbal and written)
    • Superior communication skills (writing, editing, and reporting) for a wide variety of audiences.
